AdventCR Automated 3D Non-Contact Measurement System
AdventCR- one of the world's leading vision based technologies for fully automated high-speed 3D non-contact measurement, AdventCR provides incredible high speed component inspection capabilities, able to transform the measuring task in a wide range of industrial applications requiring extensive measurement of surface and geometrical features.
The AdventCR achieves fully non-contact measurement through its unique combination of advanced photogrammetry and powerful "bundle adjustment" digital image processing. Part data is captured by one or more Intelligent Vision Devices (IVD's) that are abe to measure both geometry and surfaces. Depending on the application, a robot or other means is used to position the IVD sequentially to a series of approximative poses at which data is added to the image database. Importantly the accuracy of positioning of the IVD has no bearing on measurement accuracy.
The capacity to capture vast amounts of visual data at high speed using multiple IVD's results in an overall measurement speed 10 to 20 times faster than a mechanical CMM. Applying bundle adjustment techniques to the created image database, the system's powerful image processing software is able to identify and measure features of many types including specific geometries such as slots, edges and holes as well as surface points, delivering a non-contact measurement accuracy as high as 0.050mm.
The saved image database also provides an archive for later investigative measurement of previously measured parts. Any element present in the image databse may be selected for post-acquisition measurement control, such as in the case of the eventual failure of an assembly in the field.
Powerful graphical user interface software is provided with the Advent non-contact measurement system to allow a measurement program to be created by definition of the elements to be measure in relation to the CAD models of the parts to be measured. An interface with standard metrology software packages is available.
Application examples include Body in White Validation, Mating of Aircraft Assemblies and Production Control of Large High Volume Components such as composite aircraft components and class-A pressed metal automotive parts such as complete doors, bonnets and trunk-lids.
