Highly accurate automatic bore gauging is availabe with the wireless Blum BG40 or BG41 gauges mounted directly
in the machine tool-changer, and called up to check a bore just like any metal cutting tool. These in-machine bore gauges provide dependable feedback on bore quality directly from the machining station immediately on completion of a metal cutting operation.
BG40 is able to take a diametral bore measurement in seconds with micron precision, using a floating head that is fully independent of machine accuracy and spindle position.
BG41 may be fitted with up to 8 independent sensors to simultaneously measure bore diameter, position and cylindricity.
Both systems communicate to the machine control system via infrared data transmission.
The accuracy and high speed operation of BG 40/41 make them an efficient and reliable alternative to costly in-line or off-line bore gauging or bore measurement equipment.
